Course Overview
This new course expands on our previous offerings (Courses 304, 354) to create a full 3-day intensive course on how to derive and refine meaningful performance measures for your organization.
The course is organized into eight modules that are designed to prepare the participants to develop measures of organizational results, as well as operations and processes, and to link operational measures to related results. Participants should also be able to take measures and turn them into manageable data and useful performance information.
Who Should Attend
This course is recommended for executives, managers, planners and analysts who are seeking the best practical ideas in improving performance measurement and management. It is designed for employees who have been tasked to plan, develop, upgrade and/or maintain a balanced scorecard system, or to improve dashboards, KPI scorecards, business processes, portfolio management or other performance measurement systems. The course is recommended for managers, planners and analysts who are involved with defining performance measures, complying with regulatory reporting requirements (such as Sarbanes-Oxley) or others seeking the best practical ideas in improving organizational performance.
Course Benefits
You will understand the key concepts of the balanced scorecard and performance measurement. You will learn a systematic, nine-step methodology for building and implementing a strategic performance management system, based on the performance management theory developed at Harvard University and our international balanced scorecard consulting experience. You will receive a Performance Scorecard ToolkitTM with worksheets for each step of the methodology.
Performance measurement software will be illustrated to show how you can use tools to assist in setting up scorecards, and in collecting and reporting strategic information. You will also learn about some of the challenges and pitfalls of strategic management, and how to deal with them.
Continuing Education Units
Attendees completing this course will qualify for 2.1 CEUs through our alliance with the University of South Carolina.
Hands On Training
Through case studies and a series of interactive small-group workshops, you will apply the balanced scorecard and performance measurement concepts to meet the challenges facing a typical organization.
Instructors
The course will be taught by the Principals and Associates of the Balanced Scorecard Institute. These instructors have specialized expertise in balanced scorecard and performance measurement training, facilitation and consulting in public and private-sector organizations.
