Overview:
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is the national, professional association of CPAs, with approximately 350,000 members, including CPAs in business and industry, public practice, government, and education; student affiliates; and international associates. We set ethical standards for the profession and U.S. auditing standards for audits of private companies; federal, state and local governments; and non-profit organizations. We also develop and grade the Uniform CPA Examination.
Senior Manager— Strategic Initiatives
Purpose:
The Senior Manager— Strategic Initiatives is a member of the Office of Strategy Management (OSM). OSM’s mission is to propel the AICPA forward by leading the strategic management process, creating organizational alignment, and enabling data-based decision-making, while ensuring our key principles are met.
Manage strategic initiatives portfolio. Lead major, cross-business unit projects and programs. Direct process management and process improvement activities. Contribute to member satisfaction and operational excellence by integrating strategic intelligence and analysis into project and operational processes. Collaborate with business partners across enterprise to build a member-focused, strategically aligned organization.

Responsibilities:
Project/Program Management
* Lead large, cross-business unit projects and programs, working closely with the project sponsor and applying appropriate project management methodology.
* Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality deliverables. Provide senior management with feedback and trend analysis as well as early warning indicators regarding projects at risk.
* Ensure objectives are communicated and understood. Effectively build and manage project team.
* Act as advisor to project sponsor and team regarding strategy, process, and business intelligence. Working with the sponsor, create an efficient and effective governance framework that includes forward-looking risk management, effective change management, strong issue management, and efficient use of resources.
* Assist VP – Strategy & Human Resources with management of the strategic initiative portfolio.
Strategic Management
* Oversee organizational alignment and process improvement initiatives.
* Guide development of AICPA’s strategic process management system, including communication and training; ensure organizational compliance. Ensure alignment of organizational processes, committee plans with the strategic plan.
* Involved in building the governing framework for operational excellence.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required. |
