Diverse Clients

The Balanced Scorecard Institute has helped a diverse range of commercial, government and nonprofit organizations develop balanced scorecard and performance management systems using the Nine Steps to Success® methodology. This methodology has been adopted by clients as varied as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Blue Man Group, Hamamatsu Corporation, US Commercial Services (Department of Commerce), the City of Newark (NJ), the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada, Greenville Utilities Commission (NC), Centex Construction, Passport Canada and many others.  A more extensive collection of Institute clients is pictured at the right.

Whether through public training, on-site facilitated workshops, consulting services or the Certificate Program offered in conjunction with either the George Washington University College of Professional Studies or the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University, the Balanced Scorecard Institute has trained over 5000 people in 15 countries.  Recent Certificate Program participants have included University Program Directors, Revenue Authority Commissioners, Foreign Government Policy Officials, Public School leaders, National Institute Directors, and military analysts as well as corporate executives, managers, planning analysts and consultants. Special custom Certificate Programs have been arranged for organizations such as consulting firms, Ministries of the Botswana government and Malaysian military leaders.

Public Sector

The Institute built the government and not-for-profit version of its framework Building and Implementing Public Sector Balanced Scorecards: Nine Steps to Success™ based on years of experience working for government, not just consulting to government. The result is an improved public sector balanced scorecard framework that is simple in design, facilitates stronger internal and external communications, is strongly focused on strategy development for government programs, incorporates change management into scorecard development, and is easier for an organization to use. Members of the Institute's team draw on careers built working in public sector organizations, including cities, counties, six Federal Cabinet level agencies, non-profits, associations and several foreign governments.  Public Sector consulting clients include the US House of Representatives Chief Administrative Office, Mecklenburg County (NC), the US Commercial Services (Department of Commerce), Canada Passport, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, YMCA of Greater Houston, the City of Newark (NJ), the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Atlanta Public Schools, the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, Cooperative Educational Service Agency 6, Greenville Utilities Commission (NC) and many more.

Private Sector

The Institute has had a surge in private sector work in the last 3 years, as more and more companies are finding the Institute's down-to-earth approach more practical than the extravagant academics of many big name management consulting firms.

Private Sector consulting and training clients include Constellation NewEnergy Gas, Veolia Water, Blue Man Group, Hamamatsu Corporation, Centex Construction, SAS Institute, Lukoil, The Options Clearing Corporation, International Moscow Bank, Golden Sunset Mines, Citizen's National Bank, Household Mortgage and others.
